FERBEY, MIDDAUGH ON TOP AT CANADIAN CURLING OPEN

QUEBEC CITY - Randy Ferbey of Edmonton and Toronto's Wayne Middaugh remain unbeaten through five draws at the Canadian Open in Quebec City.

Both rinks sit atop their respective pools with 3-0 records in the first Grand Slam of the World Curling Tour season, held at the Pavillon de la Jeunesse.

Middaugh took part in three of Thursday's four draws, prevailing 6-5 over Winnipeg's Kerry Burtnyk and 6-4 over American Todd Birr before beating reigning world champion Glenn Howard 5-4 in evening action....
