WCE Canola Retreats From 12 Year Highs In Overnight Trade.

Winnipeg, Dec 12, 2007 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- Grain and oilseed futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange (WCE) posted losses in overnight trade and are likely to trade at lower levels this morning, brokers said.

Overnight canola trade was small and focussed in the Mar contract with a small amount of Jan/Mar spreading noted. The total estimated canola volume to 8:26 CT was 517 contracts.

Canola edged down as overnight Chicago Board of Trade soy complex values eased. The lack of fresh demand and a firming in the Canadian dollar contributed to the weaker tone, traders said.
