Winnipeg, Feb 04, 2008 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- RNI ICE Futures Canada (ICE) grain and oilseed futures closed Monday's session mainly higher with canola setting fresh contract highs on big advances in Chicago Board of Trade soy complex values, particularly soyoil, said brokers.
Some positioning was evident ahead of Tuesday morning's Statistics Canada Dec 31st grain stocks report.
Canola saw a heavy trade with the bulk of the action being intermonth spreading. Commercials accounted for the bulk of the spread volume as they started to pare down their Mar futures positions to bring them in line with exchange end of month position limits.
