Canadian Forex/Bond Comment: C$ Ends On Firmer Footing.

Winnipeg, MB, Jun 23, 2009 (Resource News International via COMTEX) -- The Canadian dollar was stronger versus the US dollar when North American traded ended Tuesday.

Near the close of trade Tuesday, the Canadian dollar was trading at 86.96 US cents or US$1=C$1.1500, which compares to Monday's North American closing mark of 86.76 US cents or US$1=C$1.1526.

The Canadian currency's gains were prompted by the recovery seen in crude oil futures and other commodity markets, traders said. Despite initial losses, crude oil futures eventually worked their way above the US$69 a barrel mark.
