Digital Security Controls Ltd. (DSC), Downsview, Ontario, announced the release of the security industry's first UL/SIA-FAR listed security control panel, DSC's PowerSeries PC5020.
The new SIA-FAR listing is the result of close collaboration between Underwriters' Laboratories (UL) and the Security Industry Association (SIA) in an ongoing effort to address the issue of false alarm reduction.
SIA has worked for many years with manufacturers, local authorities and regulatory agencies, such as UL, to develop a range of standards to address the growing false alarm problem. The SIA-FAR listing is the result of the development by SIA's control panel sub-committee of a new control panel false alarm standard.
