Pinkerton and Burns International has officially become Securitas Security Services USA Inc. With over 600 offices coast-to-coast and a workforce exceeding 100,000, Securitas Security Services USA Inc., claims that it has effectively become America's largest provider of security services.

In 1999, Swedish-based Securitas moved into the North American market with the acquisition of Pinkerton. During the next year, several regional U.S. companies were purchased, leading to the major acquisition of Burns International in August 2000. The July 1 re-branding represents the unification of Pinkerton, Burns and many other U.S. companies under the Securitas brand.
