Conservative captains of industry with an eye on the party leadership might not be so keen to vie for power if they knew that Tony Blair is the most underpaid PM in Europe, according to a new study by management consultancy, Hay Group.
In the first pan-European study of its kind, Hay Group conducted detailed research into pay levels among senior politicians and civil servants and evaluated pay levels against "job size" to enable comparisons with private sector captains of industry.
