LIVERMORE, California, January 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Alloptic, Inc., a global leader in the development and deployment of Gigabit Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (GEPONs), the most widely deployed next generation access network solution, announced the availability of the industry's first redundant Gigabit Ethernet Optical Network Terminal (ONT) the Xgen6000. The Xgen6000 will operate on an ITU standard passive optical network (PON), and will support redundant fiber feeds providing SONET reliability with PON economics.
