New Blow for Anti-Whalers on Eve of IWC, Reports Whale Watch Coalition.

A significant blow has hit the anti-whaling lobby ahead of the 58th annual meeting of the International Whaling Commission (IWC) in St. Kitts as yet another country declares itself pro-whaling.
Despite public opposition to commercial whaling in Denmark, the Danish foreign minister, who also represents subsistence whaling communities in Greenland, has stated that Denmark is in favour of a resumption of commercial whaling in restricted areas.
This news increases fears that pro-whaling nations have gathered enough support within the Commission to overturn some vital and long standing conservation and welfare measures.
