High Court To Weigh Many Business Issues.

The U.S. Supreme Court will weigh in on an unusually large number of legal questions important to business during its upcoming term. The justices will consider cases involving copyright and trademark protections, punitive damage awards and state attempts to control runaway health care costs, among other things. Here's a rundown on cases to be argued early this term:

Punitive damages. In State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. v. Campbell (01-1289), the Court is asked to nullify a $145-million punitive damage award issued against State Farm.
