As a recent step forward in clean energy development, Congress passed the Farm Bill, providing more than $200 million through a new Energy Title (Title IX). This amount includes financial incentives for wind power, biomass energy, and energy efficiency on family farms and ranches.
"The Farm Bill's new renewable energy development and energy efficiency programs show that a clean environment and rural economic development go hand-in-hand," said Howard Learner, Executive Director of Environmental Law & Policy Center of the Midwest.
