EPA releases 2004 IRIS program agenda.(Industry News)(Integrated Risk Information System)(Brief Article)

The EPA has released the annual Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) program agenda for 2004. The agency has also requested scientific information on health effects that may result from exposure to chemical substances in the environment, for which it is starting assessments this year.

The IRIS is an EPA database that contains the agency's scientific consensus positions on human health effects that may result from exposure. The notice lists chemical assessments completed in 2003, ongoing evaluations and new chemicals to be reviewed in 2004.

The EPA will hold public peer review meetings in 2004 in response to recommendations for greater public input. Scientific information is due by April 9 and can be submitted to mills.amy@epa.gov or the IRIS...
