PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local FORMOSA CHEMICALS & FIBRE CORP., a subsidiary of the FORMOSA PLASTICS GROUP, is currently gearing-up to build a new co-generation power station in Taiwan. Construction plans call for building a plant with an installed generating capacity of 145 Mw as well as 500 tons of steam. The new facility, to be sited in southern Taiwan, is expected to require an investment of about $73,000,000 to complete.
FORMOSA CHEMICALS employs a total staff of about 8,100. The company is engaged in the manufacture of nylon filament, rayon blended cloth, cotton fabric and yarn as well as the production of PS and terephthalic acid.
