PROJECT OVERVIEW

The gas discovered in Pakistan during the last 4 years, mostly from the southern part of Pakistan (Sindh province), is expected to add to the current output of 2.4 billion cubic feet a day (Bcf/d). However, this will nevertheless fall short of domestic demand which amounts to 3.4 Bcf/d. In any case, the government recently approved a plan to expand the country's pipeline network operated by its 2 state-owned gas utilities. The latter include SUI NORTHERN GAS PIPELINES and SUI SOUTHERN GAS CO.. The upgrade project in question is intended to enable the delivery of the newly discovered natural gas resources within a 3 year period of time.
