PROJECT OVERVIEW
Japan-based NISSHIN STEEL CO. LTD. currently operates a cold roll (CR) steel mill joint venture known as NINGBO BAOXIN STAINLESS STEEL in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, China. NISSHIN hold a 20% interest in the venture and its partners and their respective shareholdings include SHANGHAI BAOSTEEL (54%), ZHE YONG IRON & STEEL INVESTMENTS (12%) in addition to HANWA and MITSUI & CO. of Japan which equally share the balance of the equity.
The plant in question has a current installed production capacity of 80,000 tons per year (t/y). And, the consortium recently decided to double production output.
