PROJECT OVERVIEW:

A Sino/Dutch joint venture, operating under the name of YOF/C, was recently established in view of building a new telecommunications plant in China. The partners in the planned undertaking include Netherlands-based DRAKA HOLDING NV in conjunction with the local CHINA TELECOM and CGIC OF CHINA. In so doing, DRAKA will take a direct 25% stake in the venture and share the balance of the equity with its 2 associates.

Construction plans under consideration call for building a fiber-optic cable plant. The new facility, to be sited in Shanghai, is expected to require an investment of $30,000,000 to build. Product output will consist of standard optical fiber as well as cable for LAN applications and also for the so called JETnet System....
