PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Japan-based MITSUI CHEMICALS INC. recently announced that local officials had given the green light for the company's plans to build a previously announced purified terephthalic acid (PTA) plant in the country. And, the company soon expects to get final approval from the Chinese government.

Construction plans under consideration call for building a complex with an installed production capacity of 500,000 metric tons per year. The facility, of undisclosed cost, is to be sited a Zhangjiagang.
