PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local STEEL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LTD. (SAIL) is currently planning to set up 2 new businesses in collaboration with venture partners at is Bokaro Steel Plant (BSP). The estimated total cost of the projects has been established at $575,000,000.

As things currently stand, SAIL's Board of Directors has given its accord with a proposal to build a new Greenfield power station with an installed generating capacity of 500 Mw. In addition, the Board has cleared a proposal to set up a cement plant of an initial capacity of 1 million tons per year. However, longer-term plans will reportedly involve doubling output.
