PROJECT OVERVIEW:

Japan-based NIPPON OIL CORP. expects that Chinese demand for lubricating oil will continue growing in tandem with an expected rise in the production of automobiles and auto parts. As a result, the company is now gearing-up to build a new lubricating oil plant in the country.

Construction plans under consideration call for building a factory with an installed production capacity of 27,000 kiloliters per year (kl/y. The new facility, to be sited in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, is expected to cost about $22,000,000 to build.

Project completion is scheduled for September 2006.
