US-based SANMINA-SCI CORP., the world's No. 2 contract electronics manufacturer, is currently gearing-up to build its first plant in India in order to meet fast-rising global demand. The company, for that matter, is experiencing strong demand for high-end consumer products such as global positioning systems (GPS) as well as increasing growth in medical products, notably ultra-sound scanners, MRI equipment and CT scanners. As a result, it hopes to grow South Asia Pacific sales by 10% to about $700,000,000 in its next fiscal year.
