PROJECT OVERVIEW:

China's state-controlled power producers are interested in investing in nuclear projects since the government is promoting the use of alternative fuels to lower reliance on coal in power generation. As a result a Chinese joint venture, operating under the name of NINGDE NUCLEAR POWER CO., was recently established in view of building a new nuclear power plant in the country. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include GUANGDONG NUCLEAR POWER INVESTMENT CO. (51%) and DATANG INTERNATIONAL POWER GENERATION CO. (49%).
