PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local S-OIL CORP., in which SAUDI ARAMCO of Saudi Arabia has a 35% interest, is currently planning to build a new refinery in the country. Saudi Arabia, for that matter, has indicated that it was pushing to invest up to $3,500,000,000 to build a plant in South Korea to process clean fuels. S-OIL, for that matter, currently receives all of its crude oil from Saudi Arabia.
In any case, construction plans under consideration call for building a plant with an installed production capacity of 440,000 barrels per day. The new complex, of undisclosed cost, is to be sited in at Sosan city in western South Korea.
