PROJECT OVERVIEW
The local BRIDGESTONE (HUIZHOU) SYNTHETIC RUBBER CO. LTD., a subsidiary of BRIDGESTONE CORP., recently awarded a synthetic rubber plant construction contract to Japan-based TOYO ENGINEEERING CORP. (TEC).
According to the terms of the award, TEC will be responsible for the provision of engineering, equipment and materials procurement and construction services on a lump-sum basis. Construction plans call for building a facility with an installed production capacity of 50,000 tons per year of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR).
The facility, of undisclosed cost, is to be built in the Huizhou Dayawan Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guangdong Province. Project completion is scheduled in the first half of 2008....
