PROJECT OVERVIEW
An Indian joint venture was recently established in view of building a new cement plant in the state of Chattisgarh, India. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include JAIPRAKASH ASSOCIATES (74%) and STELL AUTHORITY OF INDIA LTD. (SAIL - 26%).
Construction plans under consideration, of undisclosed cost, call for building a plant with an installed production capacity of 2 million tons per year.
SAIL, a state-owned company, employs a total staff of about 137,000 engaged in the manufacturing of iron and steel products. It is also involved in the production of coke and coke oven by-products as well as being active in the mining of iron ore, coal and minerals for iron and steel making....
