PROJECT OVERVIEW

France-based TOTAL SA's Indonesian operations, through its subsidiary TOTAL INDONESIE, cover 7 oil and gas fields and more than 500 production wells in remote areas of East Kalimantan, including Handil, Bekapai, Peciko, Tambora and Tunu. As a result, the company is now planning to invest between $1,100,000,000 and $1,200,000,000 for capital spending in the country.

In so doing, TOTAL plans to increase its natural gas production from its fields in Indonesia to 2.6 million cubic feet per day this year from 2.5 million cubic feet/day last year. According to Christophe de Margerie, TOTAL President (Exploration & Production), his company also aims to produce 80,000 barrels of crude oil a day in Indonesia this year.
