PROJECT OVERVIEW

Germany-based SCL CARBON AG, a graphite and carbon maker, currently operates 11 plants in Europe and North America including a joint venture in China. The company, for that matter, presently holds a 20% market share in Asia. According to Robert Koehler, SCL Chief Executive Officer, his company is now gearing-up to meet growing demand coming from steel producers in the Asian region.

In so doing, SCL will build its first Southeast Asian plant. The planned facility will thus be the region's first such facility and is expected to strengthen SGL's position as market leader. The new factory in Banting, Selangor, will reportedly be the most cost-efficient production plant in the world with the state-of-the-art technology in the industry...
