PROJECT OVERVIEW:

In January 2006, MICRON TECHNOLOGY INC. and INTEL CORP. of the US came together to form a new company joint venture company known as IM FLASH TECHNOLOGIES LLC to manufacture NAND flash technology. Since global sales for NAND flash chips are now expected to grow 17% to nearly $12,000,000,000 in 2006 the partners have decided to build a new factory in Singapore.

Construction plans call for building a complex that will use the latest technology that etches circuits just 50 nanometres wide thus letting the companies produce more chips per wafer of silicon and with fewer defects.
