PROJECT OVERVIEW: France-based TOTAL, which is acting as lead-partner in the ongoing $2,000,000,000 development of the offshore South Pars gas field in Iran recently awarded a construction contract to HYUNDAI ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CO. of South Korea. According to the terms of the award, HYUNDAI will be responsible for building onshore facilities.

These will reportedly comprise a slug catcher and gas treatment facility incorporating 2 trains. Although a HYUNDAI spokesman has stated that the value of the contract was worth $1,000,000,000 TOTAL, on the other hand, suggested that it was significantly less.
