PROJECT OVERVIEW:

A consortium that teams-up the local state-owned SONATRACH and ANADARKO ALGERIA, a subsidiary of U.S.-based ANADARKO, recently awarded an oil field development contract to a British/Italian joint venture operating under the name of BROWN & ROOT - CONDOR. The partners in the planned project include UK-based BROWN & ROOT ENERGY SERVICES (BRES) and CONDOR ENGINEERING SPA of Italy.

According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for the expansion of oil production facilities located at Hassi Berkine North South. The project is said to be located 1,100 km southeast of Algiers adjacent the Libyan/ Tunisian boarder. In so doing, the team will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services....
