PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local ARABTANK TERMINALS (AT) currently stores petrochemicals, petroleum as well as vegetable oil in 12 tanks that have a total holding capacity of only 15,000 cubic meters at its Yanbu base. As a result, the company is now said to be gearing-up to expand its storage capacity. Upgrade plans under consideration would reportedly involve adding 300,000 to 350,000 cubic meters in holding capacity. The project would also reportedly also include storage for liquid gasses.

As things currently stand, an invitation to bid on a lump sum turnkey project is tentatively scheduled to be issued some time early in the 3rd quarter of the year 2001. And, the upgrade project of undisclosed cost is expected to require about 3 years to complete....
