PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local ABU DHABI GAS LIQUEFACTION CO. (ADGAS) is currently gearing-up to expand the capacity of its liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) facility on Das Island in the Emirates. In so doing, ADGAS recently awarded a front-end engineering and design (FEED) contract to Japan-based CHIYODA CORP. In addition, the US-based SHAW GROUP has been retained to act as project manager.

The planned upgrade will reportedly involve the addition of a new LPG train with an installed production capacity of 1 million tons per year. In so doing, project designs are expected to enable adding additional capacity at a later stage. The cost to complete the upgrade project has been pegged at $200,000,000.
