PROJECT OVERVIEW:
A Pakistani/Omani joint venture was recently established in view of looking into the feasibility of building a new urea plant in Oman. The partners in the would-be project include Pakistan-based ENGRO CHEMICAL PAKISTAN LTD. and OMAN OIL CO. (OOC) of Oman.
As things currently stand, the partners have signed a memorandum of understanding in view of completing a project feasibility study. Construction plans under consideration would reportedly involve building a fertilizer plant with an installed production capacity of 850,000 metric tons per year of urea.
