PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local state-owned PERUSAHAAN PERTAMBANGAN MINYAK DAN GAS BUMI NEGARA (PERTAMINA) is currently gearing-up to supply gas to Singapore. The long-stalled project will reportedly involve the construction of a 600 km-long gas pipeline. The new line is intended to enable linking the Pagar Dewa gas field in South Sumatra province to Singapore. In so doing, first gas delivery is scheduled for some time in the year 2005.

According to Amran Anwar, PERTAMINA General Manager (Upstream Operations - Southern Sumatra), the development of the South Sumatra gas will be an integrated project that is expected to commence in 2003.
