PROJECT OVERVIEW:

An international consortium was acknowledged to be the low bidder regarding the supply of equipment and the construction of refineries for phases 6, 7 and 8 of the South Pars gas field development project in Iran. The partners in the tentative contract include Japan-based TOYO ENGINEERING CORP. (TEC), DAELIM ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION of South Korea and the local INDRO-IRAN.

According to the Iranian Project Director, with a bid of $1,205,000,000 the joint venture is expected to emerge as the winner of the tender. However, it must still be approved by the MINISTRY OF OIL. In any case, the project consists of six units in which the first unit will go on stream 32 months after the signing of the contract. And the other five units...
