PROJECT OVERVIEW:
According to Saleh Al Ameri, ABU DHABI CO. FOR OFFSHORE OPERATIONS (ADCO) Manager (Engineering Services), oil and gas companies in the Emirates are facing major challenges in corrosion control and material selection due to the exploration of more corrosive fields in conjunction with an increase in the corrosiveness of existing deposits. As a result, ADCO recently awarded a major a corrosion protection contract to an Emirates/American joint venture to protect its 1,500 wells.
The partners in the planned undertaking include NATIONAL PETROLEUM CONSTRUCTION CO. (NPCC) of the UAE and US-based CORRPRO COMPANIES INC. The project calls for the installation of cathodic protection technology in all of ADCO's wells. The cost to complete the...
