PROJECT OVERVIEW:

France-based AIR LIQUIDE S.A. recently secured a 15-year contract to supply the local LI DONG CHEMICAL a manufacturer of benzene, toluene and xylene, for which large quantities of gaseous nitrogen are required. Consequently, the French company is now gearing-up to build a new air separation plant at Qingdao, in China's Shandong province.

Construction plans under consideration call for building a factory with an installed production capacity of 100,000 tons per year of liquid gases. In so doing, the new unit will reportedly be built by AIR LIQUIDE HANGZHOU, the engineering center of AIR LIQUIDE in China. The cost to complete the project, by the 3rd quarter of 2006, has been pegged at $28,000,000.
