PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Russia-based OAO LUKOIL is currently engaged with the local OIL INDUSTRY RESEARCH INSTITUTE regarding the establishment of a long-term program, until 2014, concerning the development of LUKOIL's oil refinery in Odessa. The plant has an installed production capacity of 2 million tons per year (t/y) and, the program under consideration envisions increasing output by another 2 million t/y.
In so doing, LUKOIL is reportedly considering the introduction of new technology. The cost to complete the proposed upgrade project has been pegged at $500,000,000.
LUKOIL has a total employment of approximately 14,000 primarily involved in the production, refining and marketing of oil, natural gas and oil products. The company is active...
