PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local LAFFAN REFINERY CO. recently awarded a gas refinery plant construction contract to a South Korean joint venture. The partners in the planned undertaking and their respective shareholdings include GS ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CORP. (GS E&C - 62%) and DAEWOO ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION CO. LTD. ((DAEWOO E & C - 38%) According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for the provision of design, procurement, construction and test-running operations. In so doing, GS will be responsible for the design, procurement and test-running operations. DAEWOO, on the other hand, will build the facility.
