PROJECT OVERVIEW:

The local PT PERUSAHAAN NEGARA (PGN) recently stated that gas demand in the western part of Java will outstrip supply. PGN, for that matter, estimates that gas demand in that region will reach almost 1.2 billon standard cubic feet per day in 2006 while the contracted volume for that year is forecasted to fulfill only 27% of total consumption. As a result, PGN has now awarded a gas pipeline construction contract to a Japanese joint venture that teams-up TOMEN CORP. and NIPPON STEEL CORP. (NSC).
