OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 15 (AScribe Newswire) -- David Brin, Brad Meltzer, and Chris Offutt have joined Michael Chabon and 16 of America's most prominent authors, to raise money for the First Amendment Project (FAP) through eBay Giving Works, the dedicated program for charity listings. The auction, which started on Sept. 8 and runs through Sept. 26, 2005, has already generated almost 40k in combined bidding from the first group of authors.
Stephen King, who is offering "one (and only one) character name in a novel called 'Cell,'" is currently the top watched auction on all of eBay with bidding currently around the 20k mark. King goes on to say that the "buyer should be aware that 'Cell' is a violent piece of work,...
