Volvo, Lockheed Join to Develop Hybrid Truck.(Class 8 Tractor)

Volvo Trucks North America, Inc., Lockheed Martin Control Systems, and Radian, Inc., recently announced they are jointly building a Class 8 Tractor that relies on a hybrid electric propulsion system. The tractor is being made for a U.S. Army program designed to promote military and commercial development.

"This project is an opportunity for Volvo and its partners to define the transportation model of the future," said Volvo Trucks North America president and CEO Marc F. Gustafson.
