Insight Gets Conditional O.K. After Test Drive.(Brief Article)

The early word on the hybrid electric Honda Insight is mixed, according to automotive writer Matt Nauman of the San Jose Mercury News. During a recent week-long test drive, Nauman found the Insight to be as dependable and efficient as most cars, but not without its small problems.
The major selling point of the Insight, the vehicle's fuel efficiency, was not lost on Nauman in light of the recent spike in gasoline prices. Although Honda says the vehicle can get around 61 miles-per-gallon (mpg) in city driving and about 70 mpg on the highway, Nauman was able to consistently average a little over 50 mpg.
