Auto Magazine Reviews 2000 Honda Insight HEV.(Brief Article)

Motor Trend magazine recently reviewed Honda's model year 2000 Insight hybrid electric vehicle (HEV). The reviewers said alternative fuel vehicles usually provide disappointing results, but noted that the HEV provided "easy driveability and desirable comfort" during a 140-mile drive through Washington, D.C. and rural Maryland.
The article said the vehicle's Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid powertrain includes a three-cylinder VTEC-E gasoline-powered engine with 67 horsepower and a 144-volt nickel metal hydride battery pack that provides an additional 13.4 horsepower and 25 more pound-feet of torque.
