Toyota, Ford Considering Tie-Up on Hybrids.(Brief Article)

Officials from Toyota Motor Corporation and Ford Motor Company recently announced that the companies are considering combining forces to promote marketing efforts and "environment-related technologies."

The automakers could establish a working panel to examine the possibility of selling Ford cars through Toyota dealerships in Japan. Additionally, the companies could join to develop hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and intelligent transport system (ITS) technology.

Toyota currently operates a joint venture plant with General Motors in California. The automaker said it hopes to align itself with Ford in order to obtain better positioning in the global automotive market.
