Honda Insight Receives Top Honors from ACEEE.(Brief Article)

Honda Motor Company recently announced that the 2001 edition of the American Council for an Energy Efficient Economy's (ACEEE) Green Book has named its Insight hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) as the best-performing gasoline-powered vehicle for model year 2001.
The automaker said its Insight HEV and its natural gas-powered Civic GX tied for top honors in the Green Book. Honda noted that the Civic GX was named top vehicle in the "Greener Choice" category. ACEEE rated all vehicles according to their emissions and mileage, as well as by the pollution emitted during the manufacturing process.
The Insight, which gets 61 miles-per-gallon (mpg) in the city and 68 mpg on the highway, earned a Green Score of 52, the highest of any vehicle. The HEV is an...
