ZAP Partners With Enable Fuel Cell on EBs.(Zapworld. com, Enable Fuel Cell Corporation, electric bicycles)(Brief Article)

Zapworld.com (ZAP) recently announced it has joined with DCH Technology, Inc. (DCHT) subsidiary Enable Fuel Cell Corporation to develop an electric bicycle (EB) powered by a hydrogen fuel cell. The goal of the partnership is to develop and introduce a commercially viable fuel cell-powered EB in 2002.

"After evaluating the market, we believe an [EB] is the most practical near-term application of fuel cell technology," said ZAP chief executive officer Gary Starr. "ZAP has always tried to be a leader in bringing new 'zero air pollution' vehicles to market and we look forward to working with [Enable] to make fuel cell bicycles a reality."

Enable said it will demonstrate a new prototype fuel cell for EB applications at a ZAP shareholder meeting later...
