Clean Cities Groups Receive EVs from DOE.(Clean Cities Coalition; electric vehicles; US Dept of Energy)(Brief Article)

The Florida Solar Energy Center (FSEC) recently announced that the Department of Energy's (DOE) Clean Cities Program is distributing Toyota electric vehicles (EVs) for free to 10 of its Clean Cities Coalition (CCC) members. The EVs are part of a one-year program sponsored by DOE to raise awareness of the environmental advantages to alternative fuel vehicles.

One recipient of an electric Toyota RAV4 is FSEC researcher Bill Young, coordinator for the Space Coast Clean Cities Coalition. The group includes a nine-county area of eastern central Florida.

"We encourage input from interested customers on what attributes they like, as well as what they'd like to see changed or improved in the RAV4 EV," said Toyota Advanced Technology Vehicles product planning...
