Chrysler Introduces Fuel Cell-Powered Minivan.(Brief Article)

DaimlerChrysler recently introduced a new fuel cell-powered Chrysler minivan that features a novel hydrogen fuel storage system which uses borax, the active ingredient found in many laundry detergents. The automaker said it partnered with Millennium Cell, Inc. to develop the fuel storage system for the Natrium minivan.

"The most important unresolved issue with fuel cell vehicles is not the fuel cell -- it's the fuel," said Chrysler Liberty Research and Development Group head Thomas Moore.

Industry experts said most automakers believe it will be at least a decade before fuel cell vehicles become common, due to problems associated with storing and using highly flammable hydrogen.
