CEC Report Addresses Fuel Economy.(California Energy Commission )(Brief Article)

The California Energy Commission (CEC) recently released a report indicating that if hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) are made available to Californians at the rate officials expect, they will have little significant impact on the average fuel economy of vehicles within the state.

The report, conducted with the aid of the California Air Resources Board (CARB) under Assembly Bill 2076, was designed to address the state's petroleum dependence and develop a strategy for reducing its rate of petroleum demand. However, the report will not represent the official opinion of CEC until it is adopted at a public meeting.
