DOE Opens Solicitation for Fuel Cell Research.(Department of Energy)(Brief Article)

The Department of Energy (DOE) recently announced it has opened a solicitation for the research and development of a polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell for stationary and automotive applications. The agency said the research will contribute to the FreedomCAR initiative, a DOE program intended to develop "a full range of affordable cars and light trucks that are free of foreign oil and harmful emissions, without sacrificing freedom of mobility and freedom of vehicle choice."
